The week of December 11, the Ready to Learn Program at Wilburn ES participated in a fun activity after reading The Night Tree by Eve Bunting. We followed a recipe to make packets with food to throw on the ground under the tree for the little animals . Also, strung food on yarn and put honey and bird seed on pine cones to hang on the tree for the animals. The classes participated in the other story-related activities as we sang and drank hot chocolate. It was a fun-filled experience for both children and their parents. Literacy brought to life through this wonderful hands-on experience.
